How the help article generator works
Outlines that work
Each article type follows the same outline as our free templates: a getting started guide ends at the first result, a troubleshooting article lists causes most common first, and a billing FAQ answers plan, invoice, and refund questions.
Only your facts
The draft uses only what's in your notes. When the outline needs a detail your notes don't give, such as a button name or a limit, the draft says [Check: …] instead of guessing.
Edit, then publish
Confirm every highlighted detail in the product, add a screenshot where a step is easy to miss, and link the next article a reader needs.
FAQ
Which article types are there?
Getting started guides, troubleshooting articles, billing FAQs, integration setup guides, release notes, known issues pages, API error references, and account and login articles.
Why does the draft have [Check] markers?
They mark details your notes didn't include. An AI that fills those in by guessing writes articles that look right and are wrong.
Are my notes stored?
No. They're used once to write the draft and aren't stored. Emails and phone numbers are removed first.
usedocs drafts articles from the questions your customers actually asked, with the conversations attached, and keeps them current as your code changes.
