How the docs drift checker works
What docs drift is
Docs drift is the gap between what your product does and what your help center says. Every release that changes a setting, a limit, or a screen name can leave an article behind.
How the check works
An AI model reads your changelog page and lists up to 6 recent changes customers would notice, with the feature or setting names each one uses. Then we look for those names in up to 8 pages of your help center.
How to read the results
Not found means the pages we sampled don't use those words, so search your help center for them before writing anything. Mentioned means the words appear, so check the article describes the new behavior and not the old one.
FAQ
Does this tell me which articles are wrong?
No. It matches words, so it shows where a change is mentioned and where we couldn't find it. Deciding whether an article is current takes a person, or a tool that reads the change itself.
Which changelog URL should I use?
The page that lists your recent releases, newest first, such as yourapp.com/changelog.
How do I keep docs from drifting?
Update the articles each release touches as part of shipping it, review the oldest articles first, and read the questions customers ask that your docs can't answer.
This check matches words once. usedocs reads each merged pull request and release, finds the articles it affects, and proposes the edit with the change attached as evidence.
